Terms of Service
The rules and reasonable expectations for using Spinly.
1. Acceptance
By using Spinly (the website at this domain) you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site. We may update these terms occasionally; the "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
2. What Spinly is
Spinly is a free in-browser spinning wheel that picks a random option from a list you provide. It runs entirely on your device. We don't ask for an account, we don't collect personal information, and any wheels you create are stored in your browser's local storage rather than on our servers. See the Privacy policy for full details.
3. Acceptable use
You may use Spinly for personal, educational, or commercial purposes. We ask that you don't:
- Use the site to harass, defame, or harm specific individuals.
- Use it to facilitate gambling or any activity that requires a regulated random number generator. Spinly is for casual decisions, not licensed games of chance.
- Try to break, overload, or otherwise interfere with the site's operation.
- Scrape or republish the site's content without permission.
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
4. The wheel is not a fair random source for high-stakes decisions
Spinly uses JavaScript's pseudo-random number generator. This is fine for everyday decisions like "what should we have for dinner?" but is not a cryptographically secure or audited random source. Don't use Spinly to decide anything where the integrity of the randomness has legal, financial, or safety consequences.
5. User-generated content
Anything you type into the wheel (names, options, weights, sequences) stays on your device. You retain full ownership of that content. We don't claim any rights over it because we don't receive it.
If you share a wheel via the "Share" link feature, your wheel data is encoded into the URL. Anyone who has the link can see whatever is in it. Use judgment about what you share.
6. Intellectual property
The Spinly brand, the site design, the written content, and the underlying code are owned by the site operator. You're welcome to view the source in your browser and learn from it, but please don't copy substantial parts of the design or content for a competing site.
7. No warranty
Spinly is provided "as is" and "as available." We try to keep the site working well, but we make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use at your own risk.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. If something goes wrong, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service, which (as Spinly is free) is zero.
9. Third-party services
Spinly may load third-party services such as Google Fonts, web analytics, and Google AdSense if you accept the cookie banner. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and using them is subject to those. See the Privacy policy for details.
10. Termination
We may take the site offline, change its features, or restrict access at any time without notice. If you misuse the site we may block your access.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can go to spinlyinformation@gmail.com.
