Random pickers for everyday decisions.
Spinly is a small library of randomness tools — spinning wheels, team generators, dice rollers, number generators, football sweepstakes, and templates. Pick the right one, get an answer, move on with your day.
The tools
Each one is built around a specific kind of decision. Pick the closest fit and start.
Spinning Wheel
Type any list of options and let the wheel pick one. Equal odds, weighted, or a fixed order — your choice.
Open the wheel →Random Team Generator
Paste names, choose team count or team size, and split people into clean copyable teams.
Generate teams →D&D Dice Roller
Fair rolls, advantage, disadvantage, damage formulas like 3d6+2, and optional DM controls.
Open the roller →Random Number Generator
Pick a number, generate a list, draw a lottery, run a raffle. Unique-only, sorted, and quick presets included.
Open the generator →World Cup Sweepstake
Add names, load football teams, and create a fair random team draw for an office or friends sweepstake.
Open the generator →More pickers coming over time — coin flips, list shufflers, and a few we haven't built yet. If you have something specific in mind, get in touch.
Popular picker guides
Beginner-friendly pages for common Spinly searches and tool modes.
Advanced modes for organisers
Advanced controls are hidden by default. They are intended for demos, testing, storytelling, private agreed sessions, and controlled setups.
Do not use controlled, weighted, preset, or sequence modes for paid draws, public competitions, prize-money giveaways, regulated promotions, or any situation where participants expect a fair random result. Use fair mode or an audited draw process.
Wheel modes
Open Mode on the wheel to use Weighted mode or Sequence mode when you need shaped odds or a planned order.
D&D dice advanced modes
Open DM Controls for preset results, weighted dice, or sequence dice during DM pacing, testing, or agreed storytelling moments.
Number generator advanced modes
Open Advanced controls to preset the next number, run a sequence, or apply weighted mode to a number range.
Sweepstake advanced modes
Open Advanced controls for preset assignments, weighted priority teams, or sequence draw setups before returning to fair mode.
For paid, public, regulated, or prize-money draws, use an audited process that matches the rules of that draw.
What people use Spinly for
A few common reasons people pull up one of the pickers.
What's for dinner?
End the nightly negotiation. Load up the restaurants or recipes you're considering and let the wheel break the tie.
Team decisions
Who's leading the standup? Who pairs with whom? Skip the awkward silence — just spin.
Chore assignments
Make household tasks feel less like punishment and more like a game show. Weighted mode is great here if some chores are bigger than others.
Pick rooms
Assign bedrooms, parking spots, cupboards, fridge shelves, storage spaces, and shared-house slots with agreed fair rules.
Pick an order
Choose presentation order, speaking order, turns, draft picks, chores, or who chooses first without repeats.
Spinly is growing beyond the wheel
Spinly started as a spinning wheel, but it is becoming a small toolkit for random picks, game rolls, number draws, sweepstakes, templates, and everyday decision tools.
Use fair mode when everyone should have the same chance. Open the relevant mode controls only when you need weighted mode, sequence mode, DM Controls, preset results, or a controlled setup for a demo, test, story, or private agreed session.
The normal tools stay simple: add your options, roll the dice, generate the number, or draw the football teams, then move on with your day.
Frequently asked questions
What's actually on Spinly?
Right now: a spinning wheel picker, a random team generator, a D&D dice roller, a random number generator, a World Cup / football sweepstake generator, and a gallery of pre-made wheel templates. More small randomness tools will be added over time.
Is Spinly free?
Yes — completely free. No sign-up, no account, no payment. Open a tool and start using it.
Can I use weighted odds?
Yes. Open Mode on the wheel page and pick Weighted mode. Each option gets a number; higher numbers mean higher chances of being picked.
Can I make the wheel pick in a fixed order?
Yes. Open Mode and pick Sequence mode. Add options in the order you want them picked, and the wheel will follow that order behind the scenes while still looking like a normal random spin.
Can I save a wheel?
Yes. Click Save in the toolbar, give your wheel a name, and it's stored in your browser. Click Open later to bring it back.
Does Spinly store my entries on a server?
No. Saved wheels still live in your browser's local storage. Optional accounts are groundwork for future online saving and do not upload or replace your current wheels.
Can I use it in classrooms?
Yes — it's widely used by teachers for random callouts, grouping, discussion prompts, and more. See our classroom wheel ideas article for examples.
Can I use it for giveaways?
Yes. Paste your entrant list into the wheel, spin, and click "Remove" after each winner to keep picking without repeats. There are ready-made wheel ideas available from the wheel page too.
Does the wheel work on mobile?
Yes. The wheel and the rest of the site work on phones, tablets, and desktops. No app to install.
